Mad about Mustard

I saw this sweater at Loft and immediately was IN LOVE with it.
I bought it for my mom for Christmas and she loved it.

This skirt and top are from Anthropologie.

Lisa from TreeandKimble on etsy makes the most beautiful lace necklaces and earrings.

I am OBSESSED with this bag by MARC by Marc Jacobs on Piperlime.

This The Secret History pin from Anya at ComradeKitsch on etsy is adorable.

Scarves are so much fun and in this weather, I wear two everyday!
I love this chunky scarf from BiKay on etsy.

Warm & Comfy Beds

While I love having a super light-filled bedroom, there are just some mornings that I just wish the sun would stay away, because I just want to stay in bed all day. And with the cold weather, the only place I want to be is in a nice, warm, comfy bed!  I would have spent this entire past weekend in bed, if the sun wasn't so hot and bright coming through the window. I think I would have stayed there regardless though if I had one of these amazing beds to crawl into.

I love this room seen in Adore Magazine.  I love the blanket, I just want to curl up in it!

I love these next two seen on Bodie and Fou.  I am in love with the dark grey walls, with the big pillowy duvets.  They just say "fall into me."

My favorite is from Ish and Chi.  I love this room with the dark walls, but with the comfy yet pretty bed.  I think this is perfect. I would love a bedroom like this!

Valentine's Day Cookies

I have a small obsession with decorated cookies.  I think they are perfect for so many different occassions.  For events, they can be easily wrapped up in a celephane bag with a pretty bow and become great little gifts for event guests.  And I love the idea of making your own at home and giving them to friends and family.  In my little NYC apartment there is not much room to be this creative, especially in the kitchen, but I look forward to making cute little cookies like these one day.  Here are a few of the most adorable Valentine's Day cookies.

Fancy Flowers makes great cookie cutters like these, and they showcased them on their blog with this super cute cookies...

I saw these hot cookies on BonBonRoseGirls, but you can order them from CookieMamas on etsy.

And for my personal favorite, I Am Baker came up with this adorable idea of a customized crossword puzzle, where the game is made of cookies and the box is made of cake!

Peacock Feathers

Last year, on a trip to the Bronx Zoo, I was amazed by the large amount of Peacocks that just roam around the grounds.  I spent most of the day trying to follow them around to capture a perfect picture of their beautiful feathers; however, I was somehow unsuccessful.  Here are my best attempts:

But, I love how peacock feathers have been everywhere in the last few years from fashion to home decor to event design.  Here are some of my favorite Peacock Feather looks:
(Row 1: Photo Shoot on Weddings in the City, Earrings from Urban Outfitters, Place Setting on The Party Dress, Cake by That's A Cake? Row 2: Signature Cocktail Display seen on HWTM by Pizzazzerie, Placecards seen on HWTM by Timeless Paper, Champagne Flutes by GodivaGlass, Place Setting seen on GetMarried.com)

Vacation: Dominican Republic

After a very hectic holiday season at work, Joel and I took a very much needed vacation to Dominican Republic.  We had a great time, it was a very relaxing trip.  We also got to visit Joel's hometown and his grandmother and other family members.  It was a beautiful country and I look forward to visiting again (after I work on improving my spanish skills!).

Our first night at the Riu Mambo, with our Mango Daiquiris...

Joel finally got his Presidente...
