My Bridesmaid Boxes

I love the idea of making something unique to ask your friends to be part of your special day and after I got engaged I decided it was one of the first things that I really wanted to do.  I found so many great ideas on different blogs, check out some of my favorites here.

The idea that I loved the most was creating little keepsake boxes for each of the girls. So, I bought some boxes from Michaels and I painted them and monogrammed them.  Inside the boxes, I put some information about the wedding along with some paint swatches of the colors we decided on and a little inspiration card (pictures via pinterest).  I also included a little notebook in pink, grey, and gold (my colors) along with some cute custom pencils that I found from Carbon Crusader on Etsy.  And for my non-Spanish speaking girls a little "Spanish Phrases for Dummies" so they can brush up before the wedding (or carry it in their clutch lol).  And my favorite item: the ring pop, cute way to propose the big question to your girls!

Will You Be My Bridemaid?

I love the idea of creating a special way to ask your girls the very important question of "Will Your Be My Bridesmaid?"  Making something yourself or writing a thoughtful note is a great way to show your girls how much they mean to you and how happy you are to have them standing next to you on your Big Day.  It is becoming such an awesome trend, and I love all of the creative ways brides are popping the question.  Check some of my favorites out below:

Wedding Update

I cannot believe it has been 9 months since Joel proposed to me on our vacation to Fort Lauderdale, but I am getting so excited as we keep getting closer to the wedding.  While we still have plenty of time before the wedding there were a few arrangements that we wanted to make sure to set early.  For starters, we have officially set a date! We will be getting married Friday, October 11th, 2013.

We have also chosen the church and reception venue.  While the ceremony will be at the church in my hometown, we will also have the reception close to home.

When debating whether to choose a venue in New York or New Jersey, we went to visit a place that my mom kept insisting that we see, Florentine Gardens in Rivervale.  We walked in and WE FELL IN LOVE!

It was one of those moments when you just know.  It was so beautiful and so perfect for everything that I was envisioning.  Take a look at some of the pictures of Florentine Gardens below...

(I hate the chair covers, but we won't be using them!)

So excited to continue the planning process....

Postable

You have to check out this great new website, Postable

While I was working on the guest list for our wedding, I realized that I only have addresses for a handful of people on the list.  Seriously, unless I have known their address by heart my entire life or they have sent me something in the mail over the last year, I have not a clue where to get their addresses. So, guess what? There is of course a website to help! (Seriously, I need to come up with some great idea!)

Here's how it works:
Postable gives you a personal link that you can send out via email, or on facebook, or however you wish to your friends and family.  The link directs them to a website where they can add their info which magically fills your address book.  You can then export the contacts to your Apple Address Book, Outlook, Gmail, or Excel and you can even print mailing labels.

Postable can also be used as a great tool to send out Christmas cards, birth announcements, baby showers, parties, and just to keep in touch with your friends and family.  They are also working on some web-to-print services, which I am excited to check out.

Check it out here, Postable.
